Orders for gift certificates only will be posted first class on the same day, if the order is received before 10am. Gift certificate only orders received after 10am will be posted the next day, unless you have requested a later date.
Orders that qualify for large letter rate postage will be sent by first class post. Larger orders will be sent by second class post**.
Our current maximum postage charge is £2.90. This is the cost of sending a small parcel, so good value for most orders, but unfortunately if you only want a single ball of wool, we can't lower it any further, because of their shape. If you are local however, you are welcome to contact us and arrange buy any of our products in person.
As a small rural business with no permanent local postal service, we regret that we cannot dispatch parcels every day. Goods will however be dispatched as soon as possible and within a maximum of five full working* days unless stock is stated as taking longer to be dispatched or we are taking a break. If we are taking a break, or planning to, we will post information here and on the the shop front page.
**During peak demand we may offer first class and next day delivery options, providing the items are in stock. During such times these exceptional delivery times will be posted here and possibly elsewhere on the website.
*working days means all
days other than Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.
Delivery outside the UK
We regret that delivery is not available outside the UK. However we are working on downloadable pattern sales on Ravelry, so please use the contact form to let us know if you would like to be informed when these are available.
Ordering from outside the UK
If you order from outside the UK for delivery within the UK and your credit card is declined, it is likely to have been stopped by your bank and you will need to contact then to authorise the transaction.
The packaging we use may be recycled – we like to do this when possible to reduce waste. If your purchase is packed in recycled packaging, we assure you your parcel will be well wrapped.
In order to be more environmentally friendly we offer the option not to have individual balls of wool wrapped in tissue paper. We are also reviewing the way we package some of our kits and hoping to offer new options on them shortly.
Every effort is made to keep stock levels updated. However, as we sometimes take our woolly goodness out into the world to sell face to face, stock levels may very occasionally be inaccurate. In the unlikely event an item sells out before levels are updated, we will contact you as soon as possible to advise alternative options. We will, however, always aim to update as soon as possible after taking stock of what we have sold on the road.
Ways to Pay
We accept payment by credit and debit card and cheques.
Website payments are processed securely through Worldpay and we do not receive any of your card details with this method.
If you wish to pay by cheque, please email us your order. Orders paid by cheque will not be dispatched until the payment has cleared our account.
We take great care to ensure that photographs and text descriptions are a true representation of our products, so that you receive items that you are happy with. We hope you will be thrilled with every item purchased from The Dartmoor Yarn Company, but if you are not satisfied please notify us in writing via email within 7 working* days of receipt.
We will exchange or refund standard items as long as the goods are returned in a new and unused, re-saleable condition within fourteen days of receipt (this includes the packaging/labels). If items are returned in a lesser condition, we reserve the right not to refund.
Please include a copy of your delivery note when returning items.
When returning an item, we recommend that you use a recorded service as we cannot be held responsible for items that are lost or damaged in the post. Items remain your responsibility until they reach us.
Delivery charges and return postage will only be refunded if the item is found to be faulty.
Should an item arrived damaged/incomplete, you must inform us within 24 hours of delivery to arrange for a replacement or refund. Replacements will only be available if stock levels permit.
In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations of 2000, personalised or bespoke items cannot be returned or refunded unless faulty.

Whilst we are happy to give advice on our products, we cannot accept responsibility or liability as conditions of use are beyond our control.
