Caring for hand dyed yarn
Care instructions are included in descriptions of all yarns and on products themselves. Please follow these instructions to ensure your products have a long life.
Hand dyed yarns will always carry variations in depth of colour within a skein and between skeins. We therefore recommend that if you are knitting with more than one hand dyed skein, you alternate skeins every two rows. Wool should always be hand washed in cool water with an appropriate detergent.
We endeavour to ensure all our hand dyed yarns are colour fast. However, sometimes even factory dyed yarns may bleed on washing with certain wool washes. If you are planning on knitting with more than one colour – hand dyed or factory dyed – check the colour fastness by washing your wool appropriately in the wool wash you plan to wash the finished item in.
